What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solution Architect position at CBT?
Position Overview:
CBT’s Services & Solutions business provides solutions to upgrade end of life or obsolete technology for our customers. The Solution Architect role works with CBT Business Development Leaders and customers to understand their technology migration needs then leverages a combination of their own knowledge and expertise applying industrial control solutions, as well as internal CBT knowledge and expertise, to define the project scope and deliverables required to satisfy the customer’s needs. The Solution Architect combines the scope, deliverables and pricing information into a selling document and delivers this document to the Business Development Leader/customer

Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
- Work with customers to understand scope and deliverables needed for a project
- Work with other CBT specialists and partners to develop a cost estimate and proposal
- Meet with CBT business development leaders and customers to review the proposed solution and gain acceptance
- Maintain competency in the application of new technology
- Develop a trusting relationship with customers, account managers and partners in delivery ecosystem
- Following CBT’s processes and procedures
- Providing continuous improvement recommendations to increase efficiencies
Experience:
- 5 years executing automation projects (Strong Rockwell Automation experience required)
- Prior experience scoping applications and estimating hardware and labor needs is required
- Broad range of project implementation & design experience desirable. (PLC, HMI, Motion, Industrial Networking, Robotics, Control System Design, Panel Design). This role will not be responsible for development of the deliverables, but prior experience delivering industrial automation projects is required.
Education:
- High school degree required
- Undergraduate degree in technology or engineering is preferred
