About the Position

This is a full-time, operational leadership role centered within our Alee Rhode Island service areas (including our clinics and home-based services). As an Assistant Clinical Director, you will bridge the gap between clinical excellence and operational management. Reporting directly to the Clinical Director, you will possess delegated authority to run day-to-day operations, mentor a dedicated team of clinicians, and maintain a reduced clinical caseload—allowing you to stay actively connected to direct client care.

What You’ll Do:

  • Balance Clinical & Leadership Roles: Maintain a targeted 15 to 20 weekly billable hours, dedicating the remainder of your time to clinical oversight, staff supervision, and management.
  • Lead & Mentor Teams: Directly supervise, coach, and develop the BCBAs, Leads, and RBTs/BTs within your assigned units, exercising full authority over case assignments and clinical resource allocation.
  • Oversee Operations & Intake: Own your units' client intake workflows, manage the utilization of authorized hours, and drive client retention and census stability.
  • Ensure Quality & Compliance: Review and approve all treatment plans and assessments independently, implement internal clinical audits, and align unit practices with ACQ accreditation standards.

Required Qualifications and Abilities:

  • Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Current BCBA certification in good standing and an active Rhode Island LBA license (or eligibility prior to hire).
  • Minimum of 3 years of ABA experience and at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of insurance-funded ABA services, utilization management, and clinical documentation.
  • Willingness to make clinical and personnel decisions independently, paired with the judgment to know when to escalate risks.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR), scheduling systems, and data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a weekly billable target of 15 to 20 hours while providing cross-coverage for fellow clinical leadership when needed.
  • Review, modify, and independently approve treatment plans, assessments, and behavior support plans for your assigned units.
  • Supervise, evaluate, and support the onboarding and 90-day orientation of behavior analysts and clinical staff.
  • Manage personnel workflows—including hiring, performance evaluations, and corrective actions—in coordination with Human Resources.
  • Monitor clinician productivity, billable hour metrics, and documentation compliance against organizational standards.
  • Coordinate client intake workflows, determine appropriate service levels, and identify strategies to improve authorization utilization and attendance.
  • Execute internal clinical audits covering documentation quality, treatment integrity, and adherence to ethical compliance frameworks.

Most importantly, we seek compassionate, dedicated leaders who love guiding clinical teams, optimizing client outcomes, and making a profound difference in behavioral healthcare. Compensation is commensurate with credentials and experience.
