CBS News is seeking an Associate Producer, to support the production of 48 Hours limited series. This role will be instrumental in supporting the research, booking, editing and fact-checking of narrative-documentary style podcasts. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment. They should have a strong interest in legal and true-crime storytelling along with a knowledge of how to package content for digital and social platforms.
This role works closely with a producer and senior producer to ensure smooth production processes and timely delivery of high-quality content across video, audio, and social platforms. This position reports to the Vice President of Podcast Editorial.

Hiring Salary Range: $70,000.00 - 75,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support production of 3-4 limited series a year.
- Coordinate scheduling, research, guest prep, and production materials
- Assist with studio recordings and day-of-production needs
- Organize media assets and manage handoff to post-production
- Lead organization of all audio materials
- Manage Descript edits
- Fact-check all episodes
- Write episode titles, descriptions, and platform metadata
- Maintain production calendars and help keep cross-functional workflows on track and ensure all deliverables meet deadlines across video, audio, and social platforms
- 2-3 years of experience in podcasting, writing with a journalism background.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience creating or editing short-form social video content
- Familiarity with video and audio editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Pro Tools)
- Established knowledge of Riverside and Descript
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
