What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Billing Operations position at CBS Medical Billing & Consulting LLC?
Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for precision, data analysis, and leadership? We’re looking for a dynamic Director of Medical Billing to take charge of our billing department and ensure the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. In this role, you’ll not only lead a talented team but also leverage data analysis to optimize billing processes, identify trends, and drive performance improvements.
Essential Duties:
1. Maintain extreme confidentiality in all aspects of the position.
2. Review, research, make recommendations for, implement and communicate new company policies,
procedures, and practices to maximize output and minimize costs
3. Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and
effectiveness can be evaluated and identify opportunities for improvement
4. Develop, implement and monitor day-to-day billing metrics, processes and systems to provide visibility into
productivity, goals, progress and obstacles of key initiatives
5. Review of regular RAP (Review And Plan) scorecards identifying trends, challenges, and areas for improvement
6. Regular auditing of each client account and meeting with the Client Success Managers (CSMs) regarding the
following reports:
a. AR Overview – further divided by Total, Insurance, and Patient responsibility
b. Claims not sent to bill
c. Activity Reports
d. Write offs
e. Rejected claims from the clearing house(s)
f. Days to first payment
7. Conduct regular meetings with CSMs regarding RAP scorecards and client audit results
8. Collaborate with executive leadership in the development of team member performance goals and long-term
operational plans
9. Conduct timely performance evaluations for Client Success Managers and assist CSMs with performance
evaluations that are constructive and encourage growth for all other Billing Department positions.
10. Participate in the interviewing, hiring and training of new team members.
11. Oversee the day-to-day schedules, activities and productivity of CSMs
12. Assist with maintaining payroll records, attendance requests, and schedules
13. Work closely with Human Resources to lead the team with integrity and to establish and maintain a trusting,
inclusive and productive environment for all team members
14. Assist Human Resources with disciplinary meetings and Performance Development Plans
15. Collaborate with Executive Leadership to identify training needs
16. Prepare, schedule and conduct appropriate training sessions for team members.
17. Provide support to all team members as needed (i.e. IT issues, client relations, team member interactions,
industry questions, training, etc.)
18. Maintain open communication with Chief Operating Officer regarding status of all accounts
