Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented 3rd Shift Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This vital role involves operating, monitoring, and maintaining various machinery to ensure efficient production processes during overnight hours. Duties
- Operate a variety of manufacturing equipment including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, flexo presses, and press brake machines with precision and confidence.
- Set up and adjust machinery using technical drawings, blueprints, CAD files, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate production runs.
- Program CNC machines utilizing CAM programming and CNC programming techniques to optimize machine performance and product quality.
- Perform routine inspections using calipers, micrometers, precision measuring instruments, and other tools to verify dimensions and maintain quality standards.
- Conduct troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on equipment to minimize downtime during shift.
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and other materials handling equipment; assist with warehouse organization and packaging as needed.
- Follow safety protocols diligently, maintain a clean work environment, and document production activities accurately in shift reports.
Skills
- Proficiency with Fanuc controls and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for machine operation and troubleshooting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in fabrication, welding, tooling setup, and assembly line processes.
- Skilled in blueprint reading, CAD design (SolidWorks preferred), CAM programming, and CNC machining operations including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes.
- Experience operating stamping presses, flexo presses, press brake machines, and other manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to use hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and basic math skills for measurement verification.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures to ensure products meet specifications; familiarity with GD&T standards is a plus.
- Previous factory or manufacturing facility experience with materials handling, packaging, fabrication or assembly line work is highly desirable.
- Strong safety awareness combined with the ability to work independently during overnight shifts while maintaining high productivity levels.
