What are the responsibilities and job description for the Comm Floor Technician - Part Time position at CBRE Government & Defense Services?
General Summary
As a Floor Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all floor areas of the facility are kept clean, safe and well-maintained. Your duties will include cleaning and maintaining carpets, hard surface floors and any other floor areas.
Essential Duties
- Performs sweeping, mopping, stripping and refinishing of hard flooring surfaces following standard operating procedures.
- Vacuums and scrubs carpeted surfaces following standard operating procedure.
- Moves furniture and other objects as needed in order to complete floor care and returns all moved items to their original place upon completion.
- Monitors supply and requests additional cleaning solutions as needed.
- Ensures all floor machines are kept clean and in proper working condition.
- Handles various types of cleaning chemicals in compliance with established guidelines and utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Reports any conditions requiring maintenance attention or repair to immediate supervisor.
- Performs warehouse recycling activities and monitors trash disposal
- Operates forklifts, ride-on pallet jacks, and tuggers
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Certification
- REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent
- REQUIRED: 1 year experience cleaning floors
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Working knowledge of all types of flooring surfaces, appropriate care, and proper use of chemicals and equipment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions in English.
- Working knowledge of warehouse safety and material-handling equipment.
- Previous experience using a ride on pallet jack and tugger
