Most leadership roles in ABA ask you to pick one: stay clinical or go administrative. This one doesn't make you choose.
As the Assistant Director of Insurance-Based Services at Connections, you'll carry a reduced caseload while spending the bulk of your time making the region work better. That means coaching BCBAs and RBTs, keeping quality assurance from becoming a checkbox exercise, answering the insurance questions that nobody else can confidently answer, and generally being the person your clinical team can count on when things get complicated.
It's a role for someone who's good at the clinical side but also genuinely enjoys the operational part of the job. If you've found yourself naturally stepping into training conversations, chasing down documentation gaps before they become problems, or translating company policy in a way that actually makes sense to frontline staff, this is probably a good fit.
What you'll actually be doing:
You'll manage a reduced client caseload while supporting behavior analysts and program managers across the region. That support looks like periodic service reviews, observing and meeting with staff, running a monthly region-wide meeting, and being the point person for insurance policy questions as they come up day to day.
On the operational side, you'll monitor staff schedules in NPA/APS, help maintain insurance documentation, create adherence timelines and fidelity checklists, and meet with prospective families to answer questions and give tours. You'll also work with the COO on community partnerships and communicate policy updates to clinical staff and clients as needed.
When things aren't working, you'll be expected to say so and bring a solution with you.
What we're looking for:
A BCBA with a graduate degree and at least some administrative experience behind them. You should be comfortable working independently, communicating clearly across clinical and administrative teams, and keeping a lot of moving pieces organized without losing track of any of them. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected. Familiarity with insurance-based service environments is a real advantage here.
Schedule and classification:
Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. This position is classified as exempt, with a non-exempt period during the first 90 days.
About Connections:
Connections Behavior Planning & Intervention provides ABA therapy across the Puget Sound area. The work is meaningful and the clients and families we serve depend on a team that shows up prepared and consistent. We take that seriously.
Connections is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Employment decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and competence.
Nothing in this posting creates an employment contract. Washington is an at-will employment state.
Salary : $98,000
