WordPress Web Developer
Location: Detroit, MI (Hybrid – 2 days onsite)
Duration: 6 Months Contract (Extension/Conversion Potential)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled WordPress Web Developer to support website enhancements, portal development, and digital experience initiatives. This role requires strong expertise in WordPress development and administration, along with solid HTML and CSS skills to build responsive, user-friendly, and maintainable web solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites and web applications.
- Create responsive, accessible, and visually appealing web pages using HTML and CSS.
- Implement website enhancements, content updates, and functionality improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, bugs, and performance concerns.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, designers, and technical teams to deliver high-quality web experiences.
- Ensure websites adhere to usability, accessibility, and web standards best practices.
- Support ongoing maintenance, optimization, and continuous improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of professional web development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with WordPress development and administration.
- Strong proficiency in HTML and CSS.
- Experience building responsive websites across desktop and mobile devices.
- Ability to work closely with stakeholders, designers, and development teams.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and focus on user experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GitHub or other version control tools.
- Exposure to JSON and API integrations.
- Experience with Salesforce or Salesforce Experience Cloud.
- Experience in energy, utilities, clean energy, or public-sector environments.
- Exposure to Microsoft Power BI or dashboard development.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and translating design files into web experiences.
- Knowledge of JavaScript, PHP, Python, or front-end frameworks.
- Experience supporting customer-facing portals, websites, or enrollment workflows.
