Essential Functions And Primary Duties
- Primary focus is to assist in servicing and operational management of accounts.
- Underwrite, service and manage assigned accounts of moderate complexity. Complexity is based on the
- degree of uncertainty, financial risk, technical requirements, urgency and volume or size.
- Assess exposure and determine rates, terms and conditions of coverage in accordance with guidelines and
- uses judgement underwriting to evaluate a risk.
- Determine either to accept, modify, or decline risks. Request reinsurance as necessary.
- Decrease value of policy when risk is substandard to limit company obligation, and specify applicable
- endorsements, or apply rating to ensure safe and profitable distribution of risks.
- Develop or modify policy wording when standard text is not appropriate.
- Bind coverage and initiate issuance of documents.
- Sign policy and authorize transmittal of documents to brokers and markets as required.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3 to 5 years of underwriting experience
- Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
- Effective customer service skills
- Proficient use of applicable technology
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Ability to analyze and prioritize multiple responsibilities
