Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Associate Billing & Audit Specialist to join our finance team. This role is responsible for supporting the billing process, conducting audits of invoices and financial records, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and client requirements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and eager to learn within a collaborative team environment.
Essential Functions And Primary Duties
- Prepare, review, and process client invoices in an accurate and timely manner
- Assist with monthly billing reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Conduct routine audits of billing data to ensure accuracy and compliance with contracts
- Support internal and external audit requests by gathering and organizing documentation
- Maintain accurate records of billing activities and audit findings
- Collaborate with project managers, finance, and operations teams to resolve billing or payment issues
- Assist in process improvement initiatives related to billing and audit functions
- Ensure compliance with company policies, client agreements, and regulatory requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in a billing, auditing, or accounting support role (internship experience welcome)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP or accounting systems preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- An analytical mindset with the ability to identify and resolve issues
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience in the insurance industry
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise
- Proficient use of applicable technology
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
