CBIZ Talent Solutions is partnering with our valued client, located in the greater Melville area, in their search for a qualified Senior Payroll Specialist.
Join a growing organization where you'll play a key role in managing complex multi-state union and non-union payroll operations. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership while ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and exceptional employee support.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly union and non-union payroll across multiple states.
- Review payroll data for accuracy, including timecards, pay rates, taxes, deductions, and union classifications.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
- Process payroll taxes and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Prepare certified payroll reports, W-2s, and payroll-related reporting.
- Coordinate union payroll audits and related documentation.
- Administer garnishments, employment verifications, and unemployment claims.
- Support payroll process improvements and special projects.
Qualifications
- 5 years of multi-state payroll experience, including union payroll.
- Construction industry payroll experience preferred.
- Experience with Vista Viewpoint and ADP (or similar payroll systems) preferred.
- Knowledge of payroll taxes, compliance, and union payroll requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with employees, management, unions, and auditors.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
