ELECTRICAL ENGINEER/DESIGNER:
CBHF Engineers, PLLC is seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer/Designer to join our collaborative mechanical, electrical, and plumbing consulting team in Wilmington, NC. This position will be involved in the design and documentation of electrical systems for commercial, institutional, municipal, and federal building projects.
The ideal candidate will have experience with building electrical systems, work well as part of a team, and be interested in taking on increasing design and project responsibility as their experience grows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design power distribution systems including equipment connections, riser diagrams and panel schedules
- Develop lighting layouts, select fixtures and controls, and perform lighting calculations
- Design low-voltage systems including telecommunications, fire alarm, security, and controls
- Perform electrical load calculations, fault current, and voltage drop analysis
- Conduct field surveys and document existing electrical conditions
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and assist with construction phase services
- Communicate with clients, contractors, utility representatives, and other project team members
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, or an associate degree with relevant building-design experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience designing electrical building systems
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office software
- Ability to read and understand architectural and engineering construction documents
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative project team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE), Engineer-In-Training (EIT), or Engineer Intern (EI) certification
- Experience with commercial, institutional, municipal, or federal projects
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and industry-standard design practices
- Experience preparing electrical specifications and construction cost estimates
- Experience with Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360, SKM PowerTools, Visual Lighting, or similar design software
- Interest in developing client relationships and growing into project management responsibilities
This is primarily an in-office position in Wilmington, NC, with limited hybrid flexibility based on experience, project responsibilities, and company policy.

MEP CAD/REVIT DESIGNER:
CBHF Engineers, PLLC is seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer/Designer to join our collaborative mechanical, electrical, and plumbing team in Wilmington, NC. You will contribute to the design and documentation of electrical systems for a wide range of building projects across the commercial, institutional, and municipal sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and revise mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection drawings using Revit and AutoCAD
- Develop plans, equipment layouts, details, schedules, diagrams, and other construction documents
- Incorporate engineer markups, redlines, and design changes accurately and efficiently
- Coordinate MEP models and drawings with architectural, structural, civil, and other project disciplines
- Assist with Revit model setup, sheet organization, view management, families, and project standards
- Review drawings for consistency, completeness, and coordination
- Assist with field surveys and documentation of existing conditions
- Maintain organized project files in accordance with company drafting and BIM standards
- Support engineers and project managers throughout design and construction
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office software
