Job Summary
Join our dedicated team as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality behavioral therapy to children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. In this rewarding position, you will implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), fostering meaningful progress in communication, social skills, and daily living activities. We are looking for a skilled RBT for the hours of 3/4-7 Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities
- Implement behavior intervention plans based on principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to promote skill development and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Collect and record accurate data on client progress, behaviors, and responses during therapy sessions to inform ongoing treatment adjustments.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, toileting, feeding, and other self-care tasks, to support independence.
- Use positive reinforcement strategies to motivate clients and encourage desired behaviors.
- Collaborate closely with the supervising BCBA and multidisciplinary team to ensure consistency and effectiveness of interventions.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and ensure secure handling of medical records and documentation.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development related to behavioral health, special education, and behavior management techniques.
- Support clients in various settings such as homes, clinics, or community environments while adhering to safety protocols.
- Document all sessions thoroughly using medical terminology and detailed notes to ensure compliance with care plans and legal standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, preferably in a behavioral health or special education setting.
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior management strategies, and data collection methods.
- Ability to assist clients with ADLs and implement individualized care plans effectively.
- Strong understanding of medical documentation practices, medical terminology, and maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Excellent teaching skills with patience, empathy, and a positive attitude toward helping others achieve their goals.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members, families, and caregivers.
- Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or eligibility to obtain certification is required; ongoing training will be provided if necessary.
