Job Title: Lineage Tester
Location: San Antonio, TX (Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months with EXT
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented lineage tester to support data validation and lineage comparison efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong database testing experience and be comfortable working across multiple data platforms and lineage tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute predefined test cases for data lineage validation
- Compare and validate data lineage across platforms such as Bigeye vs. Legacy Lineage and Bigeye vs. Alation
- Analyze discrepancies and document findings clearly
- Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency
- Perform backend data validation using SQL queries
- Ensure data integrity across multiple database systems
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience in data testing / QA
- Strong proficiency in SQL and data validation techniques
- Familiarity with at least one or more of the following databases:
- SQL Server
- Oracle
- DB2
- Snowflake
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau
- Ability to execute test cases and document results effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data lineage tools such as Bigeye and Alation
- Prior experience in data governance or metadata management projects
- Exposure to enterprise data environments
