What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Flooring Estimator position at CB Flooring?
We are a large floor covering subcontractor in the Mid-Atlantic Region is seeking an experienced flooring estimator for commercial projects in our Columbia, MD office. We are looking for someone with 3 years in the commercial flooring world.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Examine plans and specs to prepare a complete scope of work
- Takeoff plans using estimating software
- Work in conjunction with and assist Sales staff with preparing bids
- Prepare detailed plans and breakdowns of material for installation
- Maintain effective communication with Sales and Administrative staff
Experience:
- Must be familiar with reading and understanding blueprints
- 3 years of estimating experience
- Knowledge of flooring industry: carpet, hardwood, resilient and ceramic tile knowledge
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations
- Microsoft Office, general PC knowledge/usage, associated industry software and be knowledgeable of proper email etiquette

- Will be extremely detailed and organized
- Must be willing to learn not only our process but continue to learn as an Estimator
