Role Description
The Sample Processing Technician will support laboratory operations related to the preparation, handling, staining, tracking, and documentation of biological specimens used in assay development and validation studies.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, capable of following detailed procedures, and comfortable working in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological samples and regulated documentation practices.
Training will be provided; however, strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to follow established procedures are essential.
Qualifications
· Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Medical Technology, Chemistry, or related scientific field preferred
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to follow written procedures and maintain accurate documentation
· Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office
· Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
· Strong communication and time management skills
Preferred
· Prior laboratory coursework, internship, or hands-on laboratory experience
· Experience with pipetting, microscopy, or biological sample handling
· Familiarity with regulated laboratory environments (CLIA, CAP, GLP, GMP, or ISO) is a plus
· Experience handling human specimens is beneficial but not required
Physical Requirements
· Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
· Ability to perform repetitive laboratory tasks
· Ability to lift laboratory supplies up to 25 pounds occasionally
· Manual dexterity required for pipetting and specimen handling
