Patient Service Representative/Unit Clerk- Cayuga Medical Center Maternal Child Health- Per Diem

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Check in patients upon arrival
- Verify/update patient demographics
- Collect outstanding balances and co-pays
- Assist with additional scheduling such as labs, x-rays, procedures, or testing; send orders
- Take messages and triage phone calls
Required Skills and Experience:
- Schedule patient appointments
- Good time management and prioritization skills
- Good computer skills- Medent and Microsoft Office are utilized
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Previous medical office experience preferred
- College-level training/education in a healthcare support field preferred
- Previous EMR use/training helpful
Physical Requirements:
- - 90% Standing
- - 10% Reaching
- - 50% Bending
- - 20% Lifting
- - must be able to lift 25 lb.
Location and Travel Requirements:
- Location: Onsite at Cayuga Medical Center- 101 Dates Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850
- Shift: Scheduled as needed including holidays and weekends
- Travel: 0% Travel can be expected in this role
Pay Range Disclosure:
- Standard rate of $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
