Summary:

Assists nursing staff by performing assigned functions of nursing care to patients under the direction of a licensed professional RN or LPN.

Responsibilities:

• Passes fluids of Resident's choice.
• Transports residents to his/her required destinations.
• Assists resident to outside appointments as assigned.
• Assists staff in maintaining the residents' rooms to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Picks up soiled linen, observing correct standard precautions, policies and procedures.
• Sorts and puts away laundry in a timely manner as needed.
• Returns clothing racks/bins to appropriate storage area.
• Cleans and organizes the pantries and utility rooms.
Removes trash from assigned areas as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Needs to be able to adjust to various staff members, changes in assignment due to Unit needs, being exposed to disagreeable odors, sights, body wastes, etc. Involves standing and walking most of the shift; also required to lift full laundry bags.
