We are seeking a part time RN or LPN to join our team! You will be responsible for delivering high quality care to assigned patients.
Cayuga Family Medicine is a privately owned family practice that has serviced the Ithaca and surrounding areas for over 20 years. Cayuga Family Medicine is dedicated to providing outstanding medical care to newborns through patients over 100 years of age! Our office has been designated by NCQA as a Patient Centered Medical Home facility and is comprised of three physicians and one nurse practitioner at one office location.

We aim to have low volume daily schedules which enables us to spend more time and focused care to our patients. Our nursing staff provides strong support to the providers and patients aiming for high patient satisfaction and care.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Performs selected nursing and administrative duties, and assists physicians as part of the clinical care team
- Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient charts prior to appointment with recent test results and correspondence and determines needed services per practice protocol
- Confers with physician regarding any incomplete patient tests/consults or other incomplete orders prior to patient visit
- Prepares patients for examination and treatment by escorting them from the waiting area to the exam room and taking histories and vital signs
- Prepares, cleans and maintains exam and treatment rooms
- Gives injections and blood draws; assists with EKGs, OB/GYN exams and minor surgery as needed; and provides other patient care services, point of care testing as directed
- Prepares and maintains clinical supplies and equipment
- Triages and responds to patient communications within practice policy
- Coordinates care with disease management or case management programs
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations
- Creates and maintains patient files, records and other information as needed
- Maintains strict confidentiality
- Treats staff, physicians, visitors and patients with dignity and respect
- Performs other related work as required
- Previous experience in nursing or other medical fields
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Compassionate and caring demeanor
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
