Job Title: Specimen Collector
Position Type: Part-Time (10–20 hours per week; hours vary by season)
Compensation: $20/hour; mileage reimbursement over 30 miles

Job Summary:
The Specimen Collector is responsible for collecting biological specimens from clients in a professional, accurate, and compliant manner. This role ensures adherence to federal and state regulations, including DOT/FMCSA requirements, and supports Cayuga Drug and Alcohol Testing clients in maintaining a safe and compliant workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect urine, and other specimens according to established protocols
- Follow DOT/FMCSA, state, and client-specific collection guidelines
- Ensure proper labeling, chain of custody, and documentation for each specimen
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure collection site
- Provide clear instructions and maintain professionalism and confidentiality with all donors
- Communicate effectively with clients, donors, and internal teams regarding scheduling, results, or compliance questions
- Coordinate with administrative staff for scheduling and reporting requirements
- May be required to travel locally to client sites or testing locations
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in specimen collection preferred but not required; training provided
- Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA testing requirements a plus
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in labeling and documentation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to always maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Flexibility to travel locally and adapt to varying schedules
Other Requirements:
- Must complete all required training and certifications for specimen collection
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have reliable transportation
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
