Duties
- Travel to patient locations to perform blood sampling, venipuncture, and other specimen collection procedures efficiently and safely.
- Obtain vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to support clinical assessments.
- Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures during specimen collection and processing.
- Accurately label, document, and transport specimens following established protocols to maintain sample integrity.
- Communicate clearly with patients about procedures, answer questions, and provide reassurance to foster comfort and trust.
- Maintain detailed records of all collected specimens, patient interactions, and procedural notes in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and laboratory staff to ensure timely delivery of specimens for testing and analysis.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or clinical laboratory settings; prior hospital experience is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and venipuncture techniques.
- Demonstrated skill in blood sampling, specimen collection/processing, and patient care with a focus on safety and accuracy.
- Familiarity with laboratory techniques such as aseptic technique and specimen handling standards.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse patient populations and healthcare teams.
- Ability to travel independently within assigned areas while maintaining a flexible schedule.
