What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Journeyman Electrician position at CAVIS Energy?
SUMMARY:
The Journeyman Electrician will perform the following duties: installs, repairs wiring, maintains and upgrades electrical systems, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
- Terminates wiring at lighting fixtures, control boxes, connectors, and power equipment.
- Installs controls, monitoring and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, sensors, control boxes and circuit-breaker panels.
- Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric motors or heaters, and installs grounding leads.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
- Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment.
- All other duties as assigned.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Computer skills required: (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Ability to read electrical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret NEC Code Book
- Willingness to Travel if needed
REQUIRED ROLE EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2-5 years’ experience in Oil & Gas Operations
- Certificates, licenses, and registrations required: Journeyman License, Valid Driver’s License
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Willing to work 40 - 60 hours per week and be available for callouts
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and stand for extended periods
- Adverse working environment: Exposure to noise, extreme temperature, dirt, dangerous machinery, and other hazardous conditions requiring safety adherence and PPE equipment.
- Must have the ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including flame-resistant clothing, safety glasses, gloves, and respiratory protection as required.
