Job Description
Plan, coordinate, and organize the transportation of inbound and outbound goods. Work with Customer Service to proactively plan customer loads to prevent customer shortages. Record and maintain shipping documents and pallet account balances as required. Utilization of numerous computer software programs to complete all duties required.
Responsibilities
Using JD Edwards and Mercury Gate (TPS) computer systems, review daily shipping records and scan into database. Monitor production schedule and order appropriate pallets based on run cycles. Count and record pallet usage. In addition, assist Leads and Forklift Operators with paperwork and scheduling issues, maintain pallet records and account balances, and report any inconsistencies to outside storage coordinators.
Print order acknowledgements, as necessary. Ensure appropriate inventory availability and identify and report possible load shortages to Customer Service, Production Planning, and Corporate Logistics. Monitor production and adjust transfers to reflect changes as they arise.
Prepare shipping documents for every customer and storage load, i.e., Bills of Lading, Pick Lists, Customs documents, etc., according to Standard Operating Procedures. Assist in reviewing shipping documents for accuracy. Perform shipment confirmation for all outbound loads when necessary.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Attend and participate in meetings, training and continuing education programs internally or externally as deemed appropriate by management. Keep supervision informed of any issues in Cold Storage.
Qualifications
High School Diploma
2-4 Years in Shipping/Receiving (Warehouse) environment
