Assistant / Apprentice Golf Course Mechanic
The Cavalier Golf And Yacht Club is seeking an Assistant / Apprentice Golf Course Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to learn from an extremely skilled and knowledgeable head mechanic while building a long-term career in the golf course industry.
Position Overview
This position will assist the golf course mechanic with the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of golf course equipment and shop operations. We are looking for someone dependable, hardworking, willing to listen, and eager to learn.
Responsibilities
Assist mechanic with daily equipment maintenance and repairs
Help with heavy lifting and shop tasks
Clean and maintain an organized equipment shop
Assist with reel grinding, sharpening, and general reel upkeep
Learn and assist with:
Small engine and motor function
Hydraulic systems
Electrical troubleshooting and repair
Preventative maintenance on golf course equipment
Qualifications
Some mechanical experience preferred
Basic knowledge of engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems helpful
Willingness to learn and take direction
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Ability to perform physical labor and lift heavy equipment/components
