Senior Technical Analyst, Workforce Management Systems
As part of our commitment to operational excellence, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Analyst to oversee and support our workforce management and people systems. This key role is responsible for the technical design, configuration, data integrity, and optimization of workforce management systems that support forecasting, scheduling, time & attendance, and labor analytics. This role will ensure WFM platforms are scalable, reliable, and aligned with business needs.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in restaurant or hospitality technology, deep knowledge of workforce management tools, and the ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders to translate operational requirements into scalable technical solutions. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and systems integration experience.
What You’ll Do:
Workforce Management Systems & Configuration
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert for WFM platforms, including forecasting, scheduling, time & attendance, and labor optimization modules
- Configure business rules, pay codes, work rules, schedules, and accrual logic in alignment with labor policies and compliance requirements, while ensuring they meet operational needs and drive efficiency
- Maintain and optimize system parameters to ensure accurate forecasts, schedules, and labor calculations
Data, Integrations & Architecture
- Design, test, monitor, and troubleshoot integrations between WFM systems and upstream/downstream platforms, including HRIS, payroll, ERP, POS, and data lake environments.
- Ensure data accuracy, timeliness, and reconciliation across all connected systems.
- Develop and maintain detailed technical and functional documentation, including workflows, integration points, and system architecture.
- Partner with engineers and vendors to resolve defects, manage upgrades, and support releases.
- Coordinate with internal IT, architecture, and security teams to ensure system security, data integrity, and compliance with relevant standards.
- Conduct root-cause analysis on forecast accuracy, productivity, and labor variance issues.
Forecasting, Scheduling & Analytics Support
- Support technical forecasting models and scheduling algorithms, including drivers, assumptions, and constraints.
- Validate forecast inputs and outputs, analyze variances, and recommend system or process improvements.
Process Improvement & Governance
- Establish and document WFM system standards, controls, and best practices.
- Lead testing efforts for system enhancements, patches, and new functionality.
- Support audits and ensure ongoing compliance with labor laws and company policies in partnership with Legal, Operations, Manufacturing and HR.
Stakeholder Partnership & Leadership
- Act as a technical advisor to Operations, HR, Legal, Finance, Manufacturing and IT teams by evaluating and recommending technical solutions that improve scheduling accuracy, labor cost control, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, including automation opportunities within the labor management ecosystem.
- Cultivate a collaborative environment, encouraging feedback and continuous improvement.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and system configurations.
- Mentor junior analysts and provide technical guidance across the WFM function.
- Serve as a product owner within Agile teams by managing backlogs, prioritizing work, and defining acceptance criteria for labor management projects.
- Promote a culture of reliability, responsiveness, and positive customer service.
The Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Analytics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of Workforce Management (WFM) software experience required.
- Hands-on experience supporting labor, staffing, or workforce management systems in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Deep understanding of restaurant operations, labor scheduling, staffing workflows, and labor law compliance.
- Strong technical knowledge of integrations between scheduling tools, POS systems, HR platforms, and other operational platforms.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills to evaluate technical issues and operational bottlenecks.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate and influence effectively with both technical and business teams.
- Self-directed with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
- Knowledge of labor laws, wage and hour requirements, and relevant security and compliance standards.
- Position requires 3 days in office at our Washington DC headquarters.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
- Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details
- For certain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds
- Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
- Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable
