Senior Platform Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to help design, build, and operate the cloud platform that powers our digital experiences and internal services.
This role focuses on Kubernetes-based platform engineering, CI/CD automation, and developer infrastructure in AWS. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to build scalable, secure, and automated systems that enable rapid software delivery across the organization.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with Kubernetes, DevOps tooling, cloud infrastructure, and GitOps workflows.
What You’ll Do:
Platform Engineering
- Design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes clusters running in AWS
- Implement GitOps workflows using tools like Argo CD
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools
- Develop platform automation using Terraform, Helm, and scripting
Infrastructure & Cloud
- Manage AWS infrastructure including VPC, EC2, IAM, Lambda, S3 and networking components
- Implement scalable, highly available infrastructure architectures
- Support application deployment and container orchestration across environments
Security & Reliability
- Implement Kubernetes security best practices including RBAC, secrets management, and policy controls
- Secure and maintain Kubernetes clusters and supporting infrastructure
- Monitor platform health using observability tools and respond to incidents
Networking & Platform Operations
- Manage Kubernetes networking, ingress controllers, and service connectivity
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and application performance issues
- Optimize cluster performance and resource utilization
Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner with development teams to improve developer experience and deployment automation
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers
- Contribute to platform standards and best practices across the organization
The Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering
- 3 years hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of containerization and container orchestration
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
- Understanding of Kubernetes networking, services, and ingress
- Experience deploying and managing cloud infrastructure in AWS
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
- Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details
- For certain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds
- Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
- Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
