Causey & Ye Law, P.L.L.C. is seeking a motivated and organized Business Development Manager to support the firm’s growth, community outreach, recruiting support, client relations, and small firm management functions. We are a growing law firm with offices in Iowa and Minnesota. We serve individuals, families, entrepreneurs, and businesses in areas including immigration, business law, litigation, criminal defense, family law, and tax-related matters.
Position Overview
The Business Development Manager will work closely with firm leadership to strengthen referral relationships, improve community outreach, support marketing efforts, assist with hiring and onboarding, improve client intake, and help the firm operate more efficiently.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, coordinating projects, supporting a professional team, and helping a growing law firm expand its presence in the community.
Based in the Iowa office, with travel required for firm events, outreach activities, and business development needs.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Outreach
- Build and maintain relationships with referral partners, community organizations, business groups, and professional networks.
- Identify outreach opportunities in local, immigrant, business, and professional communities.
- Coordinate networking events, client appreciation events, educational presentations, and firm-sponsored activities.
- Support attorney follow-up with referral sources, community contacts, and potential clients.
- Represent the firm professionally at community and business events.
Marketing & Firm Visibility
- Coordinate social media content, newsletters, website updates, firm announcements, and client education materials.
- Help prepare event materials, flyers, attorney profiles, and presentation materials.
- Collect firm updates, event photos, community involvement information, and marketing content.
- Support a consistent and professional public image for the firm.
Recruiting & HR Support
- Assist with job postings, candidate communication, interview scheduling, and hiring follow-up.
- Support onboarding for attorneys, law clerks, paralegals, legal assistants, interns, and administrative staff.
- Help prepare training materials, office policies, confidentiality forms, and internal procedures.
- Assist with employee communication, staff coordination, internal reminders, and performance review preparation.
Client Intake & Client Relations
- Assist with potential client inquiries, consultation scheduling, intake follow-up, and new client onboarding.
- Help ensure potential clients and clients receive timely, professional, and courteous communication.
- Track consultation status, referral source, follow-up needs, and engagement status.
- Help improve the client experience from first contact through engagement.
Small Firm Operations Support
- Assist firm leadership with internal management projects, workflow improvements, and office procedures.
- Help maintain checklists, templates, standard workflows, and training materials.
- Coordinate internal meetings, staff updates, training sessions, and follow-up items.
- Track assignments, project status, deadlines, and staff follow-up items.
- Help improve communication between attorneys, case managers, legal assistants, and administrative staff.
- Support file organization, confidentiality practices, vendor coordination, event logistics, and office needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, marketing, communications, human resources, public relations, management, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in business development, marketing, client relations, recruiting, HR support, office administration, or professional services preferred.
- Law firm or professional office experience is a plus.
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and follow through on assignments.
- Self-motivated, proactive, reliable, and willing to learn.
- Bilingual ability is a plus.
