Our team in Boca Raton is growing, and we are seeking a talented, motivated Licensed Planner to join us.

Position Summary:

The Licensed Planner will be an integral part of our land development and municipal engineering team. The role involves environmental permits and processing, as well as the entitlement and planning of a variety of projects, including residential and commercial developments, parks, streetscapes, and public spaces. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in urban and regional planning, a passion for creating sustainable and well-planned communities, and the ability to collaborate with engineers, landscape architects, and other professionals.

• Key Responsibilities:

· Lead and participate in the planning and entitlement of projects for land development and municipal engineering initiatives.

· Prepare site plans, land use studies, zoning analyses, and comprehensive plan amendments in support of development and municipal projects.

· Collaborate with engineers, landscape architects, surveyors, and environmental specialists to integrate planning objectives into broader development and infrastructure projects.

· Conduct site and land use analysis, including the assessment of zoning compatibility, comprehensive plan consistency, and regulatory constraints.

· Plat processing; easement right-of-way, abandonments, dedications; site plan modifications; land development permits.

· Prepare staff reports, planning analyses, and project timelines for entitlement submittals.

· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including comprehensive plans, zoning ordinances, and land development codes.

· Present planning analyses and site plans to clients, stakeholders, and government agencies, including planning boards and commissions.

· Participate in community engagement activities and public meetings as required for municipal projects.

· Oversee the entitlement process, including site visits, coordination with municipal staff, and ensuring adherence to approved plans and code requirements.

· Stay current with industry trends, land use law, and advancements in urban and regional planning.

• Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in urban planning, regional planning, or a related field from an accredited program.

· AICP Certification (American Institute of Certified Planners) or ability to obtain certification/licensure.

· 5 years of experience in urban or regional planning, preferably with a focus on processing abandonments and dedications, and municipal projects.

· Proficiency in planning and mapping software such as GIS, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with municipal permitting platforms is a plus.

· Strong understanding of Florida’s land use law, zoning codes, and comprehensive planning requirements.

· Knowledge of sustainable planning practices, including smart growth principles and low-impact development (LID).

· Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

· Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

· Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site visits and meetings.

• Preferred Experience:

· Experience working with municipal clients and public-sector projects.

· Knowledge of South Florida regional regulations and codes.

· LEED certification or CFM (Certified Floodplain Manager) is a plus.
