Bridge Estimator Position Needed for General Contractor
Catts Construction, Inc is a general contractor engaged in Heavy Highway construction within Northeast, Ohio area. Catts is seeking an individual in the position as an estimator in the bridge division covering several locations within the state.
This position includes working in a team environment undertaking the following task:
· Estimating the cost of projects for bidding purposes
· Research materials, equipment, and labor cost
· Assess the level of risk on a project
· Analyze data such as production rates, equipment and material cost
· Calculate the quantity of both bid items and materials items from the construction drawings
· Visit and observe the job sights
· Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and co-workers including filed personnel
· Attend bid lettings
· Attend pre-construction meetings and progress meetings
· Preform calculations accurately
· Prepare correspondence
· Create estimates using Heavybid (HCSS) software
· Usage of HCSS Heavybid/ heavyjob for management
This position includes assisting with project managers and the field personnel with the following task:
· Material Submittals
· Scheduling
· Subcontract Agreements and Purchase Orders
· Force Accounts
· Change Orders
· RFI’s (Request for Information)
· Correspondence
· Progress meetings
· Verify invoices
· Take-off quantities
· Contacting subcontractors and suppliers
· Field measurements
· Work with HCSS Heavy Bid & Heavy Job programs

Estimator qualifications
- 5 years of experience as an Estimator in heavy highway construction
- Knowledge in using HCSS Heavybid and Heavyjob software
- Ability to work with others on projects
- Experience with Dept of Transportation specifications
