CATPAK is an Australian pet products brand focused on practical, innovative, and sustainable pet care solutions for cats and dogs. We are currently expanding our presence in the U.S. market and building local retail, distribution, community sales, and business partnership channels.
About the RoleWe are looking for a New York-based U.S. Market Development & Field Sales Representative to help introduce CATPAK products to the local market and build long-term retail and distribution partnerships.
This is a hybrid role combining remote work with local field visits. Product research, prospecting, customer communication, follow-up, and reporting may be completed remotely. However, the successful candidate will also be expected to regularly visit pet stores, retailers, distributors, and other potential business partners throughout the New York market.
The successful candidate must also be available to attend our pet industry trade show in Las Vegas from August 12 to August 14, 2026. During the event, the representative will support product presentations, customer reception, buyer outreach, lead collection, and post-show follow-up.
Key Responsibilities- Introduce CATPAK pet products to pet stores, independent retailers, retail chains, distributors, wholesalers, and other business partners
- Identify and contact potential customers through phone calls, email, LinkedIn, in-person visits, networking, and industry events
- Conduct regular visits to local pet stores, retailers, distributors, and community business partners
- Research and build a qualified list of prospective retail and distribution partners
- Develop and maintain a structured local sales and business development pipeline
- Present CATPAK’s products, brand positioning, pricing, and partnership options professionally
- Arrange product samples, demonstrations, quotations, and follow-up based on customer needs
- Maintain accurate records of customer communications, opportunities, next steps, and partnership progress
- Collect market feedback from retailers, distributors, business partners, and customers
- Monitor competitor products, retail pricing, channel strategies, and trends in the U.S. pet products market
- Support business negotiations and help move potential partners toward trials, purchase orders, or long-term cooperation
- Coordinate with the internal team regarding product materials, samples, pricing, logistics, and customer follow-up
- Attend company-designated trade shows, industry events, and business development activities
- Provide regular updates on market development progress, customer feedback, sales opportunities, and key challenges
- Currently based in New York City or the New York City Metropolitan Area
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship
- Comfortable working in a hybrid role that combines remote work with local field visits
- Willing and able to visit pet stores, retailers, distributors, and business partners in person
- Available to attend our pet industry trade show in Las Vegas from August 12 to August 14, 2026
- Strong English communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
- Able to manage prospecting, customer visits, follow-up, and reporting in an organized manner
- At least one year of experience in business development, field sales, retail sales, wholesale, distribution, consumer goods, or a related area
- Experience in pet products, pet retail, or the wider pet care industry
- Understanding of the U.S. pet products market and offline retail channels
- Existing relationships with pet stores, independent retailers, local distributors, wholesalers, or community business partners
- Experience with B2B prospecting, product presentations, quotations, negotiations, and sales follow-up
- Experience managing a sales pipeline or using CRM tools
- Reliable transportation or the ability to travel throughout the New York market for customer visits
- Genuine interest in pets, consumer products, or sustainable pet care solutions
- Comfortable working in an early-stage U.S. market expansion environment

- Base salary: US$45000[minimum]–US$100000[maximum] per year
- Performance-based bonuses or sales commissions may be offered depending on experience, industry resources, and role structure
- Approved business travel and work-related expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy
