**Caton Construction Group, one of The Caton Companies, headquarters in Troy, VA and Cary, NC, is growing! Currently seeking DOZER Operators for our roadway project in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina (Cornelius).** **Dozer Operators with MACHINE CONTROL DOZER experience are preferred.**
The heavy equipment operator operates a variety of contractor equipment and properly maintains the equipment on a daily basis.
Starting Pay Is Based On Skills And Experience.
**Responsibilities**
Works with and assists in moving and grading dirt, digging ditches and trenches, hoisting material, tools, equipment, and any related work with a bulldozer, backhoe, road grader or front-end loader.
Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or repairs to the supervisor.
Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
**Supervisory Responsibility**
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
**Position Type and Expected Hours of Work**
This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday - Friday, with time provided for lunch, hours may vary. Work may be local or out of town in which case overnight stays are required. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work. Overtime is anticipated.
**Travel/ Driving**
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Drivers license is required.
**Required Education and Experience**
High school diploma or equivalent.
Four years experience involving the use of medium and heavy equipment.
