We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing daily store operations to ensure smooth functioning and high customer satisfaction
- Lead and supervise staff, including employee orientation, training & development, and performance management
- Manage inventory levels through effective inventory management, stock replenishment, and merchandising strategies
- Handle payroll processing, bookkeeping, cash handling, and POS transactions with accuracy
- Support sales initiatives by implementing marketing strategies, pricing adjustments, and promotional activities
- Ensure proper store merchandising and stocking to maximize sales potential
- Conduct interviewing and recruiting to build a skilled and motivated team
- Monitor retail math metrics such as sales targets, budgeting, and inventory control to meet business goals
- Maintain excellent communication with staff and customers via phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
- Oversee shift management, scheduling, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Utilize management skills to foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork and leadership
Experience
- Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience in retail or grocery stores is preferred
- Proven track record in retail sales management, inventory control, and customer service excellence
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with POS systems, cashiering, purchasing, merchandising, and retail mat
- Demonstrated leadership skills in team management, training & development, and employee supervision
- Knowledge of budgeting, marketing strategies, stock management, and retail operations is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills with proficiency in phone etiquette and organizational skills
