Temporary High School English Teacher (Per Diem)
Location: Moore Catholic High School Position Type: Temporary (through end of current school year) Compensation: $120–$150 per day (based on experience and degree)
Position Overview: Moore Catholic High School is seeking a dedicated and flexible English teacher to join our faculty for the remainder of the school year. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction that supports student growth in reading, writing, and critical thinking in accordance with New York State standards.
Responsibilities:
● Plan and deliver daily English lessons aligned with New York State Next Generation ELA Learning Standards
● Create a structured and supportive classroom environment
● Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback
● Adapt instruction to meet diverse student learning needs
● Maintain accurate attendance and grading records
● Collaborate with department members and administration as needed
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in English or a related field (Master's preferred)
● New York State teaching certification in English (preferred, but not required for temporary appointment)
● Strong classroom management and communication skills
● Ability to step into an existing curriculum and maintain continuity of instruction
