Medical Leave Classroom Assistant Position
Saint Eugene's School is seeking a medical leave classroom assistant to assist in Grade 1 now, through December 23,2025. This assistant would have a full time position, and gain experience or further their experience in the classroom.
Classroom Assistants perform many leadership, organizational and classroom management tasks to support both teachers and students. Their duties and responsibilities will include:
- Helping teachers with lesson preparation, providing feedback and suggestions based on student observation, and including collecting materials and setting up equipment/materials
- Reviewing lessons with students on a one-on-one basis or in small groups
- Supervising students in class, between classes and during recreation periods and field trips, and in absence of teacher
- Assisting with tracking attendance, and grading assignments as requested by the teacher.
- Giving extra help to students who need special accommodations or are struggling with a concept
- Assisting students with special learning requirements
- Attending faculty meetings and parent conferences as possible
- Collaborating with the Teacher to identify students' issues and recommend solutions
- Observing Archdiocesan, Central Westchester Region, school and class rules and regulations
Requirements and Pay:
High School diploma or equivalent
Pay is $16.50 an hour, with a full time, five day a week schedule.
