Job Overview
Albertus Magnus High School, a coed Catholic High School in Rockland County, is seeking a
passionate and dynamic High School Mathematics Teacher to inspire and empower students in
their mathematical journey. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop engaging lesson
plans, foster a love for math, and support students in achieving their academic goals. The ideal
candidate will bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a strong foundation in various mathematical
disciplines to create a stimulating learning environment.
Responsibilities
• Deliver comprehensive lessons covering core math topics such as algebra, geometry, and
trigonometry. Ability to teach other courses a plus.
• Design and implement innovative curriculum plans aligned with educational standards and
tailored to diverse student needs.
• Utilize modern learning technology and instructional design principles to enhance
classroom engagement and understanding.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere
conducive to learning.
• Assess student progress through standardized testing, quizzes, projects, and regular
feedback sessions; adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Provide tutoring and academic advising to support individual student success beyond
regular class hours.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, research initiatives, and
educational best practices to continually improve teaching effectiveness.
• Willingness to moderate a club, activity or coach a sport is a plus.
Experience
• Applicant must hold a Master's degree and NYS Teaching Certification or the equivalent.
• Prior classroom experience teaching high school mathematics or related fields is highly
preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in mathematical subjects including algebra, geometry, and
trigonometry.
• Proven ability to develop engaging lesson plans using instructional design tools and
learning technology platforms.
• Well-versed in Project-Based Instructional and Assessment practices
• Strong communication skills for working effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and
administrative staff.
• Experience in Catholic and/or private school environments is advantageous.
• Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and curriculum development for diverse
