What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time School Bus Driver position at Catholic Partnership Schools?
Catholic Partnership Schools, Camden, NJ, is in need of a bus driver to transport elementary and middle school-aged students to extracurricular activities in Camden and Pennsauken, as well as local and regional field trips. We are a small school system with only one bus and one driver.
Applicants must be available Monday-Thursday from 2:00pm-5:00pm from September 21st through June 21 (excluding holidays and school breaks). Summer work is also available, but the schedule is not as fixed.
Schedule: In a typical week, you’ll work 12 hours, with some weeks going up to 35 hours (this is rare) if there are field trips scheduled. You will also be responsible for completing duties related to the bus, such as taking it for inspection, fueling and cleaning it, and performing general upkeep.
Qualifications: To qualify, you must possess a current NJ CDL license class B or above with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements. As mentioned above, we have one bus and you would be the one driver, so we need someone with experience. It would be a great job for a retiree who wants to keep their license current and earn some extra income!
Must also pass required physicals and background checks and be able to perform the duties below:
Duties:
- Safely operate a bus or van to transport passengers to their destinations
- Follow designated routes and schedules
- Provide excellent customer service to passengers
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking the bus, if needed.
- Communicate with Program Coordinator to report delays, accidents, or other incidents
- Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and maintenance of the bus
