Job Summary
We are seeking a combined SUD Peer Recovery Coach & Prevention Specialist to provide peer-based support services and deliver community prevention services in Crawford County. This unique dual-role position combines lived experience in recovery with prevention education to reduce the impact of substance use disorders (SUD) in the community.

Duties

Peer Recovery Coach (70%)

  • Provide peer support and recovery coaching to individuals with SUD.
  • Offer outreach in hospitals, jails, SUD programs, and community settings.
  • Assist clients in navigating recovery services, housing, employment, and more.
  • Advocate for and empower individuals through their recovery journey.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and uphold strict confidentiality.
  • Conduct follow-up contacts and track client outcomes.
  • Work flexible hours including evenings/weekends as needed.

Prevention Specialist (30%)

  • Deliver evidence-based prevention education, including naloxone training and prescription drug safety.
  • Collaborate with local coalitions such as the Crawford Partnership to End Substance Misuse.
  • Organize and participate in prevention campaigns, trainings, and events.
  • Track and report outcomes to ensure grant compliance.

Requirements

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Some college experience; Peer Recovery Coach Training (or completion post-hire).
  • Knowledge of local recovery and prevention resources.
  • Strong communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37,000.00 per year
