Good Samaritan University Hospital is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Radiologic Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where you'll provide high-quality diagnostic imaging while delivering exceptional patient care.

Position Summary

The Radiologic Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic radiographic procedures utilizing ionizing radiation to produce high-quality images for physician interpretation. This position requires independent judgment, technical expertise, and a commitment to patient safety and compassionate care.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of diagnostic radiographic procedures while applying prescribed ionizing radiation to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Exercise independent judgment in selecting appropriate equipment, positioning techniques, and exposure factors to ensure optimal image quality.
  • Assess patients' conditions and respond appropriately to assist in emergency situations when necessary.
  • Deliver age-appropriate patient care with consideration for each patient's developmental, physical, and emotional needs.
  • Assist physicians during fluoroscopic procedures while maintaining sterile technique and preventing cross-contamination.
  • Perform radiographic examinations throughout the hospital, including the Operating Room (OR), Emergency Department (ED), inpatient units, outpatient services, portable imaging, and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab.
  • Ensure accurate patient identification and proper documentation of imaging studies.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, departmental procedures, radiation safety standards, and regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program required.
  • Current ARRT certification required.
  • Current New York State Department of Health Radiologic Technologist license required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required- American Heart Associated only accepted
  • Strong knowledge of radiographic positioning, anatomy, radiation safety, and imaging techniques.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.


Salary Range

USD $43.15 - USD $56.23 /Hr.



This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
