Job Details
The Fireman is responsible for tending boiler or boilers, maintaining correct boiler pressure and safe water level. Assists in cleaning boilers and lubrication of equipment.
Responsibilities:
· Maintains basic boiler room records. |
· Adds whatever chemicals required for boiler and fuel oil tanks. |
· Changes gun or boiler or boilers whenever needed. |
· Takes hourly readings on steam, oil, water, air and an all air conditioner equipment |
· Checks oil and grease cups on all equipment in the power house and checks water makeup tanks and hot water circulating pumps. |
· Cleans and changes fuel oil strainers on all oil lines, front and rear of boilers. |
· Replaces and tightens packing glands on any valve, water glass or any equipment that may be leaking. |
· Runs diesel generator and air compressor weekly to ensure they are in good operating conditions. |
· Works with Power Plant foreman to clean and recondition boilers for inspection. |
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five (5) years' experience on high pressure steam boilers
· NYS Driver's License |
Salary Range
USD $27.00 - USD $34.00 /Hr.

The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
