Responsibilities
The Emergency Department Technician performs approved activities related to patient care and the functioning of the Emergency Department. Adheres to Mercy Medical Center/department policies and procedures and JCAHO/regulatory agency requirements. Demonstrates and promotes service excellence at all times.
- Delivers direct care to patients and creates a safe comfortable environment.
- Assist with selected procedures associated with admission, discharge and transfer of patients.
- Documentation in the Electronic Medical Record
- Assists with transfer of patient to a bed, wheelchair or stretcher utilizing patient care equipment safely as needed
- Performs and maintains competencies related to EKG's, glucose testing and phlebotomy
- Participates in customer service activities
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- One year satisfactory experience as a Nurse's Aide in a hospital or prior EMT experience preferred
- Good communication skills/speaks and writes clearly
- BLS required
USD $24.87 - USD $24.87 /Hr.
