Summary:
The Unit Clerk provides reception, clerical, and clinical support to the unit. Duties include communication within the department, to ancillary departments, and greeting/assisting families as needed. Strong interpersonal communication and phone etiquette skills required. The Unit Clerk supports each unit/department's organization through supply ordering and work order placement. Participates in regulatory rounds/requirements in accordance with facility, Federal, and State policies and regulations.

Responsibilities:
EDUCATION:
- High School Graduate
- Previous experience with medical terminology preferred.
- Previous computer experience preferred.
- At least six (6) months experience in an office situation preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to communicate with the health care personnel, including medical and ancillary staff, residents, families and visitors
- Must be able to speak and understand English
- Communication skills which may be inclusive of approach, tone of voice, speed of communication, respectfulness and nonverbal communication
- Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to meet unit demands for increased census and acuity
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Intermittent sitting, standing, walking and mental stress
- Works in a confined area most of the day
