Summary:
Candidate is responsible for the provision of educational classes and events as part of the Childbirth Education Program. Associate functions as a professional resource specialist to both staff and families. Candidate is responsible for the implementation of patient education in the community targeting young families and expectant parents, extending to caregivers and extended family as well. Implementation includes curriculum development, scheduling, being a primary resource for the education team, and leadership of the prenatal program in conjunction with the Manager of Clinical Education for Women's Services.

Responsibilities:
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing OR
- Master's degree in health-related field (MSN, MPH, MSW preferred)
- Current Certification in Childbirth Education
- Certification as a Child Passenger Safety Instructor (within 12 months of hire)
- Current Certification as a doula preferred (DONA or other recognized certification)
- One (1) Years in program/curriculum development
- Two (2) years of recent experience as a Childbirth Educator or as a Certified Doula
- One (1) year adult teaching experience preferred
- One (1) year experience as a Child Passenger Safety Technician
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Strong Organizational skills
- Ability to lead a group in a teaching setting
- Strong Microsoft skill set
- Strong AV equipment skill set
- Travel between facilities and community sites
- Weekend and evening requirements
- May be required to transport education materials
- Normal heat, light space, and safe working environment; typical of most office jobs
- Occasional exposure to one or more mildly unpleasant physical conditions
- Some exposure to vehicles and unusual conditions when functioning as a Child Passenger Safety Technician/Instructor
