What are the responsibilities and job description for the Day Care Teacher position at Catholic Diocese of Sioux Falls?
We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Daycare Teacher to join our team! The ideal candidate has a genuine passion for working with young children and is committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities that support children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment
- Establish and follow a consistent daily routine
- Supervise and engage with children during play, meals, nap time, and learning activities
- Build positive relationships and communicate regularly with parents/guardians about their child’s progress and daily experiences
- Keep accurate records and maintain classroom organization and cleanliness
- Work collaboratively with other staff members
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- High school diploma or equivalent (Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Early Childhood Education coursework, or related degree preferred)
- Previous experience working with young children strongly preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Job Type: Full-time Schedule: Monday–Friday (specific hours to be discussed)
