St. Thomas Aquinas Parish School is accepting applications for a full-time, non-exempt School Custodian.
General Summary: Help keep the parish school a clean and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and families. The custodian will also help the parish maintenance team with special projects and improvements.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform custodial duties in the St. Thomas Aquinas Parish School during the school day (taking out trash, operating floor scrubber, setting up and taking down lunch period, stock and maintain bathrooms, etc.)
- Work alongside Maintenance team to perform basic facilities upkeep.
- Meet with contractors for regular inspections.
- Snow and ice removal from parking lots, ramps, and walkways.
- Lawn and landscaping duties.
- Open school building in the mornings and prepare entries, walkways, etc. for the day.
- Help monitor janitorial supplies in conjunction with Maintenance Staff and third-party cleaning company.
- Set up for activities and events in the school.
- Assist with summer projects and maintenance during the summer break.
- Other duties may be assigned on a project basis.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of two years’ experience preferred; experience in a school is a plus.
Require: Must have a valid driver's license. Practicing Catholic preferred.
Physical Demands: Must be able to move and load equipment and supplies that weigh 50 pounds or more. Must be able to work independently without direct supervision. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and climb ladders.
