Head Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach Job DescriptionWest Catholic High School is seeking a Head Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach dedicated to the mission of forming Disciples of Christ through a dynamic, excellence-driven Catholic education. The Head Coach is responsible for the operation, implementation, and evaluation of the volleyball program from the sub-varsity to the varsity level.Major Responsibilities and Duties-Faith Leadership: Serve as a positive role model who joyfully lives their Catholic faith and upholds the values of the Church for students, staff, and the community.-Program Development: Provide leadership that develops a unified athletic philosophy and ensures all coaches work together toward common goals for grades 9-12.-Student Excellence: Help individuals achieve higher values in discipline, teamwork, academic achievement, and self-esteem.-Instruction & Evaluation: Manage practices and contests to promote growth in athletic skills; establish performance criteria and regularly evaluate students' athletic abilities.-Operational Management: Work with the Athletic Director to schedule competitions, coordinate arrangements, and manage program operations and equipment.-Communication: Maintain open communication with the Athletic Director, parents, and students; conduct player and parent meetings prior to the start of the season.-Compliance: Monitor student eligibility and ensure all program activities follow MHSAA, conference, and West Catholic Handbook policies.-Advancement: Cultivate relationships and instruction with feeder programs and support school admissions and development efforts.Qualifications & Skills-Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited school is preferred.-Experience: Previous head coaching experience at the high school or college level is preferred, along with meaningful playing experience.-Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of volleyball techniques, procedures, and NCAA recruiting regulations and landscape.-Interpersonal Skills: Ability to establish a strong rapport with stakeholders and maintain poise under stressful situations.-Accountability: A willingness to embrace high levels of accountability and make consistent decisions based on program standards.Performance Keys-Functionality within the mission of West Catholic High School.-Consistent team discipline and accountability.-Year-round athlete development, including skill, strength and speed.-Program competitiveness and operational integrity.-Management of direct reports: Junior Varsity Coach, Freshman Coach, Assistant Coaches-Reports to the Athletic DirectorWorking Conditions-Frequent district-wide and statewide travel.-Frequent prolonged and irregular hours.Application ProcessPlease send a cover letter, resume, and references to Angelique Gaddy-McElveen at angeliquemcelveen@grwestcatholic.org.
