Major Position Responsibilities
- Curriculum Expertise: Become an expert on the foundations of the Pressley Ridge evidence-based therapeutic foster parent curriculum.
- Co-Teaching and Documentation: Co-teach initial foster parent training sessions with the other Foster Family Trainer and document parent participation.
- Feedback Implementation: Gather feedback about training from foster parents and staff and implement suggestions.
- Retention Support: Improve family retention during training and licensing by addressing barriers, engaging with families, and problem-solving.
- Placement Adaptation: Assess placement disruption trends and adapt the curriculum to meet parents' needs, specifically for parenting refugee teenagers from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Curriculum Enhancement: Ongoing development of the curriculum, including customizing and making improvements, as necessary.
- Engaging Training: Find creative ways to make training engaging and practical for parenting skills.
- Adaptive Teaching: Adjust teaching style to match foster parents' learning preferences.
- Homework Review and Make-Up Sessions: Review foster parent homework and facilitate make-up training for late or absent parents.
- Internal Therapeutic Structure: Collaborate with the Foster Family Capacity Lead to develop internal therapeutic structure for Level II and Level III care.
- Continuing Education: Provide training opportunities for foster parents and staff, including sending a monthly continuing education email.
- CPR and Mental Health First Aid: Co-teach quarterly CPR training for foster parents, staff, and foster youth, and coordinate quarterly Mental Health First Aid trainings.
- Meeting Participation: Attend and contribute to weekly staff meetings and bi-weekly team meetings.

- Work will be performed primarily inside, in-person at the office and occasionally virtually from home.

- Computer Proficiency (Zoom, LMS, and Online Database): Proficient in computer skills required for the position, including Zoom, Microsoft Learning Management System, and the program's online database.
- Personal Qualities: Exhibit respect, compassion, and graciousness while assisting foster families in supporting youth to succeed in the United States.
- Education Preference: A bachelor's degree in social work, education, a related field, or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Foster Ca e Proficiency: Experience in foster care, particularly related to licensing requirements and family support.
- Adult Education Experience: Proficient in teaching and training adults.
- Refugee and Teenager Familiarity: Experience with refugees and teenagers preferred.
- Must be able to pass a national BCI/FBI background check.
- SSW or CSW preferred.
- Current Utah driver's license, proof of auto insurance with minimum policy liability limits of $50,000 per person and $100,000 per incident, 21 years of age or older, a clean driving record, and ability to meet CCS vehicle safety requirements.
- The general schedule will be worked Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 8:30 PM. Rotating weekend on-call schedule 3-4 times a year.
