Position Title: Warehouse Material Handler

Location: 430 N. 14th ½ Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804

Reports To: Operations Manager

Status: Full Time

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Department: Operations

Hours: Monday-Friday as scheduled, Weekends and Evenings as needed

Primary Function:

The Warehouse Material Handler makes product available to order fillers by using replenishment sheet for product moves. Perform all aspects of warehouse product care including receiving, storage, disposal, and distribution. Driving vehicles for deliveries and pickup of products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Follow established procedure to move product from the receiving areas to racking area and assist in efficient product flow.

2. Move product from the freezer, cooler and dry storage area to the agency selecting area and assist staff and volunteers in making product ready for distribution.

3. Use equipment to move product throughout the warehouse.

4. Read pick lists and other applicable documents to fill orders and verify orders filled by other staff.

5. Assist drivers with receiving and loading out.

6. Transport product from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas in the warehouse.

7. Process frozen, dry and refrigerated product orders with special emphasis on produce orders. Sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated areas.

8. Mark product with identifying information.

9. Weigh or count product for distribution.

10. Provide excellent customer service to partner agencies and other customers.

11. Safely operate all material handling equipment.

12. Safely operate all vehicles in our fleet by delivering and picking up product as requested.

13. Maintain accurate records.

14. Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and with inventory count activities.

15. Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly facility. Other duties as assigned by management.

Education:

· High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience:

· Warehouse or manufacturing background, with the use of heavy equipment.

· One-year related warehouse operations experience and/or training

Requirements:

· Attention to detail

· Valid driver’s license

· Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer space for extended periods of time

· Must be able to understand and to comply with the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Code of Conduct

· Must be able to successfully complete the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Child Safety Training

· Background screening required

Special Requirements:

· Willingness and ability to learn sanitary food storage and handling guidelines and practices (at Foodbank cost).

· Certification to operate motorized forklift or willingness and ability to obtain certification (at Foodbank cost).

· Commitment to serving vulnerable populations and ending hunger in west central Indiana.

Working Environment

The Warehouse Material Handler works in a warehouse environment. The physical demand of the job includes the following conditions:

· Physical demands: Bending/ stooping/ walking/ standing/ sitting/ lifting up to 75 lbs. occasionally.

· Must be able to read and edit email and other related tools related to the role

· Must be able to sit or stand for extensive periods of time and navigate through the warehouse

· Must be able to function within a moderate to loud noise level environment, extreme heat and cold and in various weather conditions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
