PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
The Youth Activities Coordinator is responsible for the development and delivery of recreational programming for youth at Ryves Youth Center. This role supports at-risk youth in a safe, structured environment and collaborates with staff and volunteers to fulfill the mission of Catholic Charities Terre Haute.
POSITION CONTENT
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Develop and lead inclusive, safe, and engaging recreational programming for youth.
· Provide crisis intervention for youth and adults when needed.
· Supervise, support, and help train volunteers involved in youth programming.
· Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the facility in collaboration with other staff.
· Collaborate with the Program Director and other team members to meet program goals.
· Create innovative and meaningful opportunities for youth engagement and development.
· Communicate effectively with youth, families, staff, and external community partners.
· Demonstrate understanding of the impacts of poverty and homelessness on youth.
· Ensure adherence to agency and Archdiocesan policies and practices.
· Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the efficient functioning of Ryves Youth Center.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE
· High School diploma required.
· Experience working with youth or within recreational programs preferred.
· Must be able to understand and to comply with the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Code of Conduct.
· Must be able to successfully complete the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Child Safety Training.
· Background screening required.
· Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle required.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
· Environment: Youth Center.
· Exposures encountered: Loud noise.
· Physical demands: Bending, stooping, stretching, walking, standing, sitting, lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
· Shift requirements: Primarily afternoons and evenings, with occasional days, weekends, and holidays.
· Communication: Must be able to communicate extensively and effectively with staff and community partners via telephone, one-on-one conversations, face-to-face, and written correspondence.
· Travel: Ability to travel to and work as needed at various locations in and around Terre Haute, Indiana.
