General Description:
The Nutrition Outreach and Education Program Coordinator is a position with the overall responsibility of implementing the Hunger Solutions contract. This includes increasing participation in the SNAP/Food Stamp Program by implementing the Nutrition Outreach and Education Program Work plan county-wide.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists individuals in the SNAP/Food Stamp application process.
- Maintains excellent communication with all personnel from Hunger Solutions.
- Networks with local agencies to generate referrals for the SNAP/Food Stamp program.
- Identify local barriers to service in the SNAP/Food Stamp Program and implement strategies to reduce or eliminate them.
- Tracks and document individual cases of referrals.
- Provides outreach services throughout Tompkins and Tioga County on a regular basis.
- Follows up on SNAP/Food Stamp cases to ascertain eligibility outcomes.
- Monitors expenditure and budget.
- Is responsible for purchase of advertising, materials, and other items needed to complete objectives.
- Attends Hunger Solutions meeting and other required training.
- Completes required reports, charts, graphs, and documents in a timely manner.
- Develops and maintains an active and supportive interaction with the Department of Social Services to facilitate the most efficient and comprehensive use of resources.
- Assists other Catholic Charities programs as deemed necessary.
- Attends, participates in and support CCTT functions and activities.
- Competes other duties as assigned.

Requirements:Qualifications:
Education: Associate degree in human services
Credentials: Valid NY State Driver License and access to a reliable vehicle (if required).
Experience: Two years of experience in human services field preferred Bi-lingual preferred but not required
Relevant years of experience and education will be considered

- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in regard to all records reviewed including consumer records, employee records and billing records.
- Ability to work in the following software programs: Windows, Microsoft Office, and multiple online software platforms as required by funders and partner organizations
- Ability to analyze and interpret data and to handle problem resolution.
- Possession of a valid NYS Driver’s license and a driver's record considered acceptable by agency and insurance carrier.
- Continuous use of a reliable, registered and insured vehicle.
