What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Director position at Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Fall River, MA Inc?

The Human Resources Director must have expertise, leadership and enthusiasm to immediately infuse the agency with knowledge and direction, transforming the Human Resources department into the hub of agency resources and culture.

The Human Resources (HR) Director must have competence, agility, and wisdom to balance autonomy with teamwork as a vital member of the Senior Management team.

Responsibilities

·         Talent Acquisition and Recruitment: Work closely with the program managers to learn about the specific needs of each program and ensure that they are adequately staffed with qualified employees; develop a streamlined yet thorough onboarding process.

·         Employee Training and Development: Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth to enhance employee skills and competencies and encourage retention.

·          Employee Relations: Foster a positive work environment; develop and maintain engagement initiatives and surveys; function as a strategic advisor to the management of each program regarding key organizational and management issues.

·         Conflict Resolution: Handle employee grievances, disputes, and disciplinary matters and coach program managers in these areas.

·         Performance Management: implement and oversee performance evaluation processes, providing guidance and support to supervisors and employees to enhance performance and professional development.

·         HR Policy and Compliance: create new or update HR policies; compliance with all safety regulations and agency policies; periodic job description review; maintain employee handbook and policy/procedure manual; ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws, regulations, and industry standards; manage legal and HR matters effectively.

·         Benefits and Compensation: coordinate with the Diocese on benefits; conduct periodic reviews of compensation to ensure that a fair and just compensation strategy is maintained; conduct research and analysis of organizational trends and generate reports.

·         Supervision of Human Resources Manager and receptionists

·         Other related duties as assigned to support the overall functioning of the organization.

Qualifications:

·         Must demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism

·         Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field; Master’s preferred

·         SHRM Certification required

·         Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in human resource management, including experience in high-level leadership roles

·         Strong knowledge of MA laws, federal laws, regulations, and best practices

·         Excellent communication, interpersonal, and management/supervisory skills

·         Excellent verbal and written communication

·         Excellent time management, organizational skills and attention to detail

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

·         Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

·         Demonstrate a commitment to servant leadership

·         Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

·         Valid driver’s license and occasional travel to various agency sites

Physical Requirements:

·         Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

·         Must be able to occasionally lift 15 pounds

Salary : $75,000 - $83,000
